You may have wondered how we got started baking together. Well, we were encouraged and inspired by the original “Cookie Lady” herself. You see, our grandma’s last name was meant to be. Grandma BAKER loved baking cookies, but even more she loved to share them with others. Lucky for us she passed on this love to her twin “dollies”. This Saturday we will be reminiscing and remembering her fondly as we bake up Candy Bar Hello Dolly Bars. Grandma your dollies are extra proud to carry on your traditional! We miss you!
When your sister insistently states that she MUST have buttercream this Saturday, who are you to argue or object? Instead, you search your pantry and candy jar for any and all things that could be topped by this said buttercream. And then you smile and remember how lucky you are to have a sister who knows buttercream fixes everything. There are no worries when buttercream is involved. So run, don’t walk, to your kitchen and whip up our Candy Bar Buttercream Frosted Cookies and soon you too will be in a sweet Saturday buttercream bliss.
Make our favorite cookie dough recipe . Bake according to the directions. Allow to cool and frost with buttercream (recipe below). Top with chopped candy bars.
Ever heard the phrase, “Too much of a good thing is not a good thing at all,”? Well take applies to our sweet cheat this Saturday….sort of. After trick or treating last night we have mounds and mounds of candy. If your kids are like ours’ they prefer the super sweet fruity types of candy. We, on the other hand, LOVE the chocolate. Good thing they won’t notice us “borrowing” their chocolatey goodies to make Candy Bar Brownies. Brownies mix+ candy bars + Saturday + sisters = the best post Halloween treat ever!
- 1 box of brownie mix plus ingredients on the back of the box
- Halloween candy
Make brownies according to directions on the back of the box. Once cooled put your “borrowed” Halloween candy on top of the brownies and enjoy with your little ghosts and goblins!
